I have been using Python cgkit-2.0.0alpha8 for a while now and I have been very impressed. It has a great collection of modules for custom development environments, making it easy to create programs from scratch. The tools are very intuitive and easy to use, making it a great choice for beginners and experienced developers alike. The render objects feature is also very helpful, allowing you to preview the results of your code before committing to a full program. I also like the ability to share or remove materials, making it easier to collaborate with other developers.
The Python Computer Graphics Kit is a collection of Python modules that contain the basic types and functions to be able to create 3D.
The highlight of this release is a new RenderMan binding (module "cri") that is ctypes-based and that links to a renderer's shared library (in the case of Aqsis this can be aqsislib or ri2rib).
